Alan W. McDaniel

Alan W. McDaniel, 64, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at his home. He was born March 10, 1954, the son of Clyde A. and Deloris Evelyn (McKinney) McDaniel. On May 4, 2001, he married Sharon McDaniel, and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2017. Alan is survived by several cousins including Joseph, Everett and Terry; mother-in-law, Edna M. (Dixon) Yeley of Shelbyville; four stepchildren. In addition to Sharon, Alan was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepdaughter. Alan graduated from Franklin High School in 1971. He attended the First Christian Church. Alan liked corvettes and was a member of the Poor Boys of Indiana car club. He loved his friends and enjoyed helping them from time to time. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Interment will be at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
