Anita Louise "Skeet" Landwerlen

Anita Louise “Skeet” Landwerlen, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at her home. She was born June 29, 1943, in St. Paul, Decatur County, the daughter of Bernard and Evelyn Louise (Simpson) Cole. In January of 1968, she married George R. Landwerlen, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1993. Anita is survived by her brother, John Wayne Cole of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to George, Anita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert “Bob” Cole, Charles Cole and Bernard Cole Jr.; and a sister, Donna Montgomery. Anita was a member of Crossroads Community Church. She formerly worked at Williams Industries, retiring in 1995. Anita was an avid softball player. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Community Church, 475 E. Progress Way, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
