Barbara A. Erickson

Barbara A. Erickson, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born August 10, 1936, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Mary Alice (Glick) Davis. On November 22, 1956, she married Harry D. “Bud” Erickson, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2013. Barbara is survived by her sons, Harry D. “Dave” Erickson, Jr. and wife, Pamela, and Gregg E. Erickson and wife, Diane Marie, both of Shelbyville, Joseph L. Erickson and wife, Dannette, of Edinburgh, and Andrew T. Erickson and wife, Keri, of Avon; sister, Janet Ince-Davis of Franklin; grandchildren, Breanna Hogan and husband, Nick, Benjamin Erickson, Kyle Erickson and wife, Megan, Katie Erickson and fiance’, Scott Flynn, Brody Erickson and Barbara Sutfin; great-grandchildren, Sam Hogan, Max Hogan, Gabe Sutfin and Hailey Sutfin; sister-in-law, Susan Davis; and niece, Gretchen Lusk-Wall. In addition to Bud, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Steven Davis. Barbara graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1954, and attended Butler University for two years. While attending Butler University, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a member of Shelbyville Community Church. Barbara retired from Kiefer Furniture Store in 2003, with 20 years of service. She enjoyed cross stitching and shopping. Barbara cherished the time she spent with her loving family. She also leaves behind her dog, Daisy. A gathering of friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Private inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
