Barbara Ann Eiler

Barbara Ann “Barb” Eiler, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

She was born July 13, 1949, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Conger) Scott.  On April 30, 1976, Barb married John R. Eiler, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2019.

Barb is survived by her loving daughters, Jill Nolley and husband, Rob, of Shelbyville, and Megan Brewer and husband, Matt, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Makenzie Nolley, Quinn Nolley, Dylan Brewer and Simon Brewer; sister, Beverly Bass of Shelbyville; cousin, Linda Amos; sisters-in-law, Sherrie Haehl and husband, Nathan, Chris Wissing and husband, Mike, and Cindy Eiler; brothers-in-law, Bill Eiler and wife, Donna, and Mark Eiler; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

In addition to John, Barb was preceded in death by her parents; and nieces, Cindy Pierce, Tracie Latimer and Amie Mandat.

In 1967, Barb graduated from Shelbyville High School.

Barb was formerly a secretary for the State of Indiana for 10 years, and also worked at H&R Block for 10 years.  She and John owned Diversified Insulation in Indianapolis from 1986 until 2009.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church.

Barb was a member of Tri Kappa, PEO Sisterhood and the Major Hospital Women’s Alliance.  She was also a member and champion of the Shelbyville Ladies Golf Association.  Barb enjoyed playing bridge with several different bridge clubs.

Barb also leaves behind her fur babies, Lilybelle and Luna.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel,  819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville and from 10 to 11 am, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at First Christian Church, 118 W. Washington St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 11 am, Thursday, at the church, with the Revs. Ralph Botte, Beth Crouch and Bill Horner officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
