Betty A. Bruner

Betty A. Bruner, 95, formerly of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Regency Assisted Living in Hixson, Tennessee.

She was born April 12, 1931, in Shelby County, Indiana, the daughter of Julian and Freda (Hendrickson) Jones. On August 6, 1966, she married Morris Bruner, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1989.

Betty is survived by her sisters, Patricia Turner and husband, Horace, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Freda Kaster of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Morris, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Nell Stoner; and brother-in-law, Phil Kaster.

Betty graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950.

She was a member of the Community Church of Greenwood, where she was involved in Bible Study Fellowship for over 20 years.

Betty retired in 1991, from USF&G in Indianapolis, with over 30 years of service.

Betty enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Ambassadair Travel Club, she also enjoyed swimming in the pool in her neighborhood.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 am, Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison Street in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 11 am, Saturday, with Horace Turner officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
