Betty J. Baker, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1925, in Shelby County, the daughter of Leon and Violet (Dwiggins) Featherston. On January 19, 1942, she married Frances Eugene “Bud” Baker, and he preceded her in death in 2004. Betty is survived by her sons, Thomas W. Baker of Indianapolis, and William E. Baker of Greencastle; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn See and Mavern Patterson; and brothers, Wesley Featherston and Buddy Featherston. Betty was a self-employed housekeeper, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Betty loved and leaves behind her dog, Pepper. Private family services will be observed. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
