Betty Jean Worland, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at Aperion of Waldron.
She was born January 3, 1931, in Shelby County, the daughter of George and Leona (Jackson) Neeb. On July 12, 1952, she married Ralph Worland, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1991.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda J. Worland and husband, Clif, of Shelbyville; son, Chris D. Worland and wife, Linda, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Scott Worland, Ralph Worland, Joey Reasoner, Heather England and Adrian Bambery; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Duane “Bud” Martin of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to Ralph, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia C. Martin; sisters, Ethel M. Grivas and Kathryn Kincade; and brother, Meryl T. Neeb.
Betty graduated in 1949 from Waldron High School.
She attended Shelbyville Baptist Temple.
Betty formerly volunteered at Hospice of Shelby County and Major Hospital.
She was an avid bowler. Betty enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, crocheting, knitting and sewing.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
