Billy H. Anders, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his home.

He was born October 24, 1950, in Union City, Tennessee, the son of Ray and Gladys (Roberts) Anders.  On July 26, 1990, he married Sue Ellen Wilson, and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2020.

He is survived by his son, Steven Anders and wife, Dawn, of Fairland; step-daughter, Janet Hitchcock of Shelbyville; brother, Jerry Anders and wife, Pam, of Brookville; sisters, Fay Burtner and husband, Ray, of Noblesville, and Jackie Merrick of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Sue, Billy was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Joseph Aldridge; and brother, Raymond Anders.

Billy also leaves behind his beloved dog, Tippy.

He retired from the Labor Union Local No. 120, in 2005, with 30 years of service.

Billy enjoyed going fishing, boating and camping.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.

Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
