Blair J. Erwin

Blair J. “Pooh” Erwin, 43, of Shelbyville, passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.

He was born February 5, 1979, in Indianapolis, the son of Stan and Karla Erwin.  On February 25, 2010, he married Roberta “Berta” Luvern Merrick, and she survives.

Blair is survived by his wife of Shelbyville; children, Zachary Burchett and wife, Shelbi, Cheyenne Burchett, Quientin Burchett, Elizabeth Erwin and Haley VanCleave, all of Shelbyville, and Noah Erwin of Indianapolis; brother, Mak Erwin and wife, Christina, of Lafayette; grandchildren, Rae, Izaac, Channing, Kye-Kye, Lilly, Zane, Kade, Avery and Myah; and mother-in-law, Brenda Nolley and husband, Roger, of St. Omer.

He was preceded in death by his Grandma Lollie.

Blair graduated in 1997 from Triton Central High School, he continued his education at Vincennes University, where he received a degree in Horticulture.

He had formerly worked at Plymates, for over 10 years.

Blair enjoyed landscaping.  He also enjoyed playing video games, going golfing and watching the Chicago Cubs and Anime.

He loved family time and enjoyed creating lasting memories.

Blair leaves behind his dog, Diesel and cat, Mei.  He was preceded by his dogs, Dasha and Keiba.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. The family is requesting that everyone attending wear sport attire, Chicago Cubs or other sporting items.  No cleats please.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
