Bruce Scott Gaines

Bruce Scott Gaines, 67, of Edinburgh, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home.

He was born February 19, 1955, in Rushville, the son of Robert and Roselyn (Wilson) Gaines.  On October 7, 1995, he married Teresa Gaines-Becerril, and she survives.

In addition to Teresa, Bruce is survived by his sons, Michael Robert Gaines and Matthew Robert Gaines, both of Edinburgh; daughter, Michelle Angela Gaines of Edinburgh; and sisters, Deborah Bishop and Molly Tosch, both of Evansville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bruce graduated in 1973 from Rushville Consolidated High School.  He continued his education and received a bachelors of science in Psychology, with a minor in computer science.

He had been employed at Indiana Power and Light, now AES, for over 20 years.

Bruce enjoyed being at home with his family gathered around the fire pit.  He loved listening to his favorite band “The Beatles”.

He was a devoted and loving husband and companion, an exceptional father to his children and a great friend.

Bruce loved animals, especially his dog, Blu.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
