Carl Ray Allen

Carl Ray Allen, 31, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 27, 1986, in Indianapolis, the son of Kelly Wayne Allen I and Joanie Dorris (Miller) Allen. On June 10, 2015, he married Courtney Ayers, and she survives. In addition to Courtney, Carl is survived by his mother of Shelbyville; daughters, Brooklynn Allen, Carlee Allen, Bailey Allen, Charlotte Allen and Mollie Allen, all of Shelbyville; step-son, Braydon Chasteen of Shelbyville; brothers, Kelly Wayne Allen II and wife, Amanda, of New Palestine and James Leveridge and wife, April, of Hazard, Kentucky; father-in-law, Dana Ayers and wife, Catherine, of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Kara Cradic; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Pamela Denise Allen. Carl’s favorite part of life was being a dad, and he was a wonderful one. He graduated from Triton Central High School in 2005. Carl was an electrician. He enjoyed tinkering with his truck and watching western movies. He also enjoyed listening to country music artist, Johnny Cash, George Jones and Conway Twitty. Carl loved his dog, Dolly. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the funeral home, with Pastor Leslie Bearden officiating. Interment will be in London Cemetery in Shelby County.
