Carol Ann Houpt

Carol Ann Houpt, 83, of Morristown, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Morristown Manor.

She was born on March 25, 1943, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ross Hinman and Annetta Faye (Knott) Johnson.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Beth Litteral and husband, Brian, of New Palestine, and Angela Merritt of Morristown; sister, Gay Vaughan and husband, Joe, of Florida; grandchildren, Jordan, Mackenzie, Kylar, Kerigan, Boston and Anniston; two-great-grandchildren; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved step-father, Byron (Poppy) Johnson; daughter, April “Dawn” (Benson) Matters; brother, William Hinman; and grandson, Joey. Carol has joined her beloved dog, Charlie, who passed before her.

In 1961, she graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

Carol worked as a human resources manager for several companies, retiring from Industrial Coding Services, in 2005.

She was a member of the Morristown Legion Auxiliary. Carol enjoyed sewing, baking, painting and spending time with family and friends.

Private graveside services will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with a Celebration of Carol’s life at a later date.
