Caroline M. Martin

Caroline M. Martin, 63, of Fairland, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1953, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Robert E. and Carolyn L. (Handy) Martin. Caroline is survived by her sons, Brian Eastridge and wife, Kari, of Fortville, and John Eastridge and wife, Christal, of Greenfield; brothers, Robert E. Martin Jr. and wife, Karin, of Greenfield, and Michael S. Martin of Shelbyville; sister, Christina Smith and husband, Dennis, of Greenfield; grandson, Owen Eastridge; granddaughter, Maci Eastridge; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Eastridge; sister, Constance Martin; and nephew, Jeremiah Smith. Caroline attended John Marshall High School in Indianapolis. She was employed by Walgreens for the past 15 years. Caroline adored her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. She enjoyed computer networking and digital media. She also enjoyed theatre, photography, gardening and crafting. Caroline had a quirky sense of humor and always made you laugh. She was a people person and loved interacting and helping those around her. Caroline is the female version of Robin Williams. Caroline loved her kitties, Kiki and Wini, her constant companions. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
