Carolyn Jean Randolph, 79, of Morristown passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born December 20, 1940, in Fairland, the daughter of Walter F. and Roberta (Marshall) Plymate. On September 14, 1957, she married Kenneth W. “Kenny” Randolph, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2016.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Gary Randolph and wife, Kim, of Rays’ Crossing, and David Randolph and wife, Lori, of Knightstown; daughter, Gale Laura Couch and husband, John, of Fountaintown; sisters, Patricia Martin, Mary DePrez and Linda Wilson, all of Shelbyville, and Sharon Russell of Fairland; brothers, Richard Plymate and Robert Plymate, both of Shelbyville, James Plymate of Indianapolis, and Charles Plymate of Evansville; grandchildren, Garyn Randolph, Gabe Randolph and wife, Katie, Steven Lee Jr., Tisha Debaun and husband, Scott, Grant Randolph, Austin Randolph, Jason Houston, Aaron Houston and wife, Hillary, Andrew Carlton and wife, Bethany, and Bethany Carlton; and several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to Kenny, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Lee; brother, Walter F. “Shorty” Plymate; sisters, Betty Plymate and Nancy Plymate; and grandchildren, Kristen Randolph, Sarah Randolph and Nathan Lee.
Carolyn enjoyed sewing, tending to her flower gardens and working in the yard.
She loved to spend time with her family.
A gathering of friends will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
The Celebration of Carolyn’s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Inurnment will be at Hanover Cemetery in Shelby County.
