Carolyn Ann McNamara, 79, of Fountaintown, a devoted Christian, mother, wife, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, Nana and friend passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Franciscan Saint Francis Health in Indianapolis.
She was born June 20, 1946, in Marion County, the daughter of Wilbur C. and Mary Ellen (Fuller) Mosiman. On October 29, 1977, she married, Dale McNamara, and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2019.
Carolyn is survived by her loving daughter, Dana Fields and husband, Christopher, of Shelbyville; sister, Leslie Glidewell of Fayetteville, Georgia; special friend, Riley Legan; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In addition to Dale, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; son, James “Jimmy” Koch; sister, Janie Hobbs; and brothers, William Mosiman and Philip Mosiman. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Molly.
In 1964, Carolyn graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis.
She was a member of The Fountain, and was a faithful prayer warrior at the church in Fountaintown, Indiana.
Carolyn retired from American United Life Insurance in 2001, as an administrative assistant in accounting, with close to 40 years of service.
She loved singing and listening to music, going to the beach and playing slot machines.
Carolyn also loved her family and the precious time she spent with them. Words to describe her are beloved, devoted, generous, wise, vibrant, encouraging and fun loving.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at 1pm, Saturday, at the funeral home, with Pastors Michael Smith and Joshua Hahn officiating.
Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
