Clayton James “C.J.” Caudill, 25, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born January 14, 1996, in Indianapolis, the son of James G. Caudill and Jodi L. Garretson.
C.J. is survived by his father, Jim Caudill and wife, Deanne, of Shirley; brother, Luke Mattix of Knightstown; sister Olivia Mattix, of Savannah, Georgia; grandparents, Carol Lepper and husband, Tim, of Fort Wayne, Marsha and Jeff Thomas of Wilkinson, and Dennis and Kim Sitton of Pendleton; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother on October 19, 2020; grandmother, Doris Caudill; and grandfathers, Willie Caudill and Harry Garretson.
C.J. graduated in 2015 from New Haven High School in Fort Wayne.
He loved participating in bowling in the Special Olympics. C.J. also loved listening to music, especially his favorite band KISS. He loved people and his laugh was contagious.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Stephens officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
