Connie Jean Jenkins

Connie Jean Jenkins, 47, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was born May 31, 1972, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ernie Johnson and Linda (Richardson) Johnson. On July 7, 2012, she married Larry W. Jenkins, and he survives. In addition to Larry, Connie is survived by her mother of Greenfield; sons, Jacob Johns and wife, Margery, of Shelbyville, William Johns, and Josiah Jenkins, both of Greenfield; daughters, Julayne Jenkins of Philadelphia, and Halie Smith and husband, Colton, of Williamsport; several sisters including Cheyenne Smith and husband, Tony, of Greenfield, and Jeana Haley and husband, Tracey, of Fortville; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Connie attended Greenfield Central High School. She loved music, especially Elvis and was a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club. Connie also enjoyed listening to Journey and Steve Perry. She collected music memorabilia. Connie also loved to travel, her favorite spot was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A gathering of friends will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 National Road in Greenfield, with a Celebration of Connie’s life at 1 p.m., with fellowship to follow. The Rev. Dave Scifres will officiate. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
