David L. Eads

David L. Eads, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. He was born February 19, 1937, in Shelbyville, the son of George and Mary (Day) Eads. On July 24, 1965, he married Maralyn Aldridge, and she survives. In addition to Maralyn, David is survived by his son, Jeffrey Scott Eads and wife, Jenefer, of Shelbyville; brother, Mike Herndon and wife, Marilyn, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jared Scott Eads, Jessica Lorene Elaine Eads and Jenna Renee Eads; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Brown and Jon Eads; and sister, Carolyn Cottrell. David graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1955. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Power DD, as an electronic tech. David was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He retired from KCL Corporation, with over 30 years of service. David enjoyed fishing and watching westerns. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with military graveside rites conducted by the local military committee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Shelby County, PO Box 844, Shelbyville, Indiana or American Diabetes Association, 8604 Allisonville Road, Suite 140, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.
