Denise L. (Mehringer) Finley, 57, of Shelbyville, formerly of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. She was born April 7, 1959, in Key West, Florida, the daughter of Owen J. and Ruth M. (Toole) Mehringer. Denise is survived by her daughter, Tanya Finley and husband, Bud, of Shelbyville; sisters, Pam Hamner of Huffman, Texas, and Marilyn Brown and Judy Stoneham and husband, Stephen, both of San Augustine, Texas; brothers, Robert Mehringer and wife, Norma, of Martinsvillle, Michael Mehringer of Pearland, Texas, and Richard Mehringer and wife, Darla, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Charla Hicks and husband, Brandon, Darla Seiler and husband, Dusty, and Zachery Brown and wife, Christina; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Gabriel, Aaliyah, Hunter, Tyrone, David, Mariah and Mia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby G. Johnson on June 10, 2011; brother, Owen Wayne Mehringer; and great-grandson, Ryan Seiler. Denise was formerly a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Martinsville. She was an avid archer and was a member of the Archery Club in Houston, Texas. Denise enjoyed reading. Gathering of friends will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Denise Finley Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
