Diane Pennington

Diane Pennington, 81, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny.
She was born June 1, 1944, in Indiana, the daughter of Harold Ralph and Ruby Mae (Victor) Boring. She married Steve “Gary” Pennington, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2024.
Diane is survived by her nephews, Jeff Johnson of Toney, Alabama, Eric Johnson of Indianapolis, and Curt Johnson of Shelbyville.
In addition to Gary, Diane was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Johnson; and niece, Debbie Johnson.
Diane was a secretary for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, retiring with 32 ½ years of service.
Graveside services will be at 9 am, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
