Donley Virgil "Don" Jones, Jr.

Donley Virgil “Don” Jones, Jr., 70, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at his home.

He was born on October 19, 1955, in Santa Ana, California, the son of Donley Virgil Sr. and Lora Earline (Goudy) Jones. On August 7, 1982, he married his wife of 43 years, Rochelle Diane Scully, and she survives.

In addition to Rochelle, Don is survived by his sons, Christopher Jones and wife, Araceli, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Robert Jones of Shelbyville; daughter, Amanda Acevedo and husband, David, of Fishers; sister, Diana Longo and husband, Curtis, of Crossville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, Nathan, Mikaela, Nick, Jenna, Caden, Mia, Zander, Logan, Hunter and Aurora; five great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Eloise, Evelyn, Atlas and Via; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Doreen Brooks.

Don graduated from Canyon High School in 1973.

In 2020, he retired with over 15 years of service from Aurlex Logistics, where he was a warehouse manager.

Don enjoyed going fishing, playing cards and woodworking. He also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.

He also leaves behind his dog, Sofia.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
