Donna Jean Taylor

Donna Jean Taylor, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at her home. She was born May 19, 1939, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Fred and Gaylena (Wood) Hodson. Donna is survived by her son, Charles Merritt of Shelbyville; daughters, Lorretta Stevens of Greenfield, and Beth Beauchamp of Shelbyville; sisters, Maxine Williams of Newport News, Virginia, and Suzan Kelly of Greenfield; granddaughter, Gaylena Merritt and husband, Kevin Head; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred A. Hodson, Robert E. Hodson, Richard S. Hodson and Thomas L. Hodson; and a sister, Joyce I. Hornback. Donna was a homemaker and had formerly worked in various factories. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, reading and working crossword puzzles. Donna also leaves behind her dog, Buttons. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville. Services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
