Edwin D. “Ed” Limpus, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He was born August 15, 1947, in Shelbyville, the son of Ora E. and Vyda M. (Goodman) Limpus. On March 5, 1972, he married his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Ann (Allen) Limpus, and she survives.
In addition to Cindy, Ed is survived by his mother of Shelbyville; daughter, Michelle Lyn Holt and husband, John, of Shelbyville; and numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Ed graduated from Southwestern High School in 1965.
He was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church.
Ed was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam.
He owned and operated Limpus Sales and Service from 1970 to 1989, and then Sears Home Stores in Greenfield and Lebanon, retiring in 2014.
Ed was also a 40 year member of American Legion Post No. 70.
He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and golfing.
Ed also leaves behind his dog, Winnie.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2019 at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 ECR 600 S, Waldron.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with Pastors Jon Carlstrom and Harvey Taylor officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the local military committee.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
