Ella May Ingle

Ella May Ingle, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin.

She was born February 28, 1935, in Plentywood, Montana, the daughter of Rufus and Thyra (Whittish) Marks.

Ella is survived by her sons, Samuel Ingle Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Greenwood, and Steven Ingle and wife, Jackie, of Ohio; daughters, April Couture of South Bend, Margaret Barnes and husband, Chuck, of Madison, and Carol Whiteman and husband, John, of Indianapolis; sister, Joyce Marks Mittan of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, James Ingle, Rachel Swift, Amanda Voris, Noah Green and wife, Ashlee, and Grace Ingle; great-grandchildren, Ethan Swift and wife, Lauryn, Piper Swift, Makenzie Moran and Weston Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Robert Couture; sister, Yvette Reckert; and brother, Rufus Marks Jr.

Ella was formerly the church secretary at Shelbyville Baptist Temple, where she loved to attend church.

She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Freeman  Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 1 pm Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
