Ellen M. Rote, 79, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. She was born August 5, 1942, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Charles and Edna (White) Poore. On August 5, 1983, she married Kenneth Rote, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2020. Ellen is survived by her daughters, Terri Dennison and husband, David, of Shelbyville, and Tina Roher and husband, Thad, of Friendswood, Texas; son, Tim Byrnes of Greeley, Colorado; brothers, Danny Poore and wife, Regina, of Indiana, and Charles “Rocky” Poore and wife, Wanda, of Tampa, Florida; sister, Linda “Lindy” Connolly and husband, Tom, of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, Tim Dennison, Dustin Dennison, Maggie Davis and husband, Luke, Reed Roher and wife, Rachel, Joya Byrnes and Camden Byrnes; great-grandchildren, Jaida, Lilliana, Averie, Maddox and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Kenneth, Ellen was preceded in death by her parents. Ellen formerly worked in several nursing homes. She enjoyed making crafts, especially making her own ear rings. Ellen loved her family and cherished the time she spent creating memories with them. Private inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue, in Shelbyville. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
