Esther (Nichter) Wilkes

Esther Nichter Wilkes age 100 years old was born April 6, 1922 in Seymour, Indiana. She passed away September 26,2022 at her son's home in Clarkrange, TN.

She was a factory worker, hairdresser, seamstress always looking for ways to generate income. She followed her son to live in Tennessee in the 1990’s. She'd lived with her son during the last 6 yrs.

Graveside services will be Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Fountaintown Cemetery, Fountaintown, Indiana at 12:00 noon EST.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Rascoe and wife Connie; grandchildren, Thomas and Linda Rascoe, Sam and Deanna Rascoe, Bill Carter, T.A. Rascoe, Mike and Rhonda Carter, Bryan Carter, Randy and Teresa Kilgore, Tom Kollros, Bo and Dawn Kollros, Becky Carter, Charles and Meredeth Cross, James and Kim Rascoe; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and special friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Carter Stone; parents, Frank and Ruth (Carr) Nichter; siblings, Lawrence Nichter, Audrey Nichter, Willard Nichter, Gladys Weasner, Huldah Butcher, Ruby Toborg, Murial Carr, and Charles Nichter.

Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, Indiana is in charge of services for Esther Nichter Wilkes of Clarkrange.
