Floyd "Danny" Haehl

Floyd “Danny” Haehl, 70, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his home. He was born October 11, 1949, in Shelbyville, the son of Floyd and Mary Lou (Case) Haehl. On August 16, 1980, he married Lee Ann Leming, and she survives. In addition to Lee Ann, Danny is survived by his daughter, Melissa Haehl and significant other, Mike Hodge, of Trafalgar; sons, Nicholas Daniel “Nick” Haehl and fiance’, Kelly Harman, and Jordan Lee Haehl, both of Shelbyville; step-daughter, Christina Jo Cardinal Schwartz and husband, Ira, of Martinsville; brothers, Nathan Haehl and wife, Sherrie, of Jupiter, Florida, and Brian Haehl and wife, Pat, of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law, Denny Fox of Columbia, Missouri, Kris Leming and wife, Nancy of Indianapolis, and Bob Leming of Shelbyville; aunt, Janis Sue Marek of New Albany; grandchildren, Brennan, McKenzie, Trinity and Everett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Cindy Fox. Danny graduated in 1967 from Shelbyville High School. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Church of Christ. Danny was a journeyman electrician and member of the electrical workers Union IBEW Local No. 481 for 35 years; after retirement he worked at Rural King for three years. He was also a member of the Ray’s Crossing Coffee Club. Danny never met a stranger, he was very happy and enjoyed life. He liked cooking, grilling and fishing. Danny enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved his tractor and spending time outdoors. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
