Frances I. (Suiter) Cole

November 23, 1926 — May 29, 2017

Frances I. (Suiter) Cole, 90, of Clay City, formerly of Shelby County, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at her grandson’s residence in Indianapolis. She was born November 23, 1926, in Greensburg, the daughter of William and Sophia (Trendelman) Suiter. On October 12, 1946, she married Wilbur O. Cole, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2014. Frances is survived by her daughter, Emily Sue Grossman and husband, Rick, of Clay County; grandsons, Adam Grossman and wife, Erin, and Nick Grossman and wife, Hazel; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Christine Cole; sisters, Helen, Margaret and Dorothy; and brothers, Harry, Paul and William. Frances was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Shelbyville High School. Frances formerly worked at T.W. Cinch and Walmart. She enjoyed playing cards. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with her grandson, Nick B. Grossman officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Riley Highway, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 or the donor’s choice of charity.
