Frieda L. Gahimer

Frieda Lavon Gahimer, 95, of Morristown, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Flat Rock River Lodge, in Rushville. Born May 18,1910, in Rush County, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah D. and Mary Edna (Clingman) Edmondson. She married Chester Gahimer on March 31, 1929, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn (husband, James Crim of Manilla and Edna (husband, Kenneth) Hauger of Glenwood; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Hornung; infant son, Chester Fredrick Gahimer; one sister, Treesa May Buckler; and two brothers, Delbert Edmondson and Loren Edmondson. Mrs. Gahimer lived in Fayette County from 1950 to 1959. She was a homemaker, farmwife, seamstress and baby-sitter. Mrs. Gahimer graduated in 1928 from Manilla High School. She was a member of Gwynneville Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Aide Society; and Helping Hand Aide Society, formerly in Homer. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Frazier Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Goddard Cemetery, in Rush County. Memorial contributions may be made to Gwynneville Christian Church Building Fund, in care of Frazier Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St., Morristown, IN 46161.
