Gary Eugene Oldham Jr.

Gary Eugene Oldham, Jr., 30, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in Shelby County. He was born September 17, 1991, in Metairie, Louisiana, the son of Gary Eugene Sr. and Vicki Jean (Lay) Oldham. Gary is survived by his parents of Shelbyville; fiancée, Stephanie Munger of Shelbyville; maternal grandmother, Deloris Jean Cecil of Shelbyville; maternal step-grandmother, Denise Lay of Norris, Tennessee; sisters, Lydia Oldham and significant other, Randall Hunt, Tara Oldham, and Tiffany Garner and husband, Lee, all of Shelbyville, and Danielle Hufnagel and fiance’, Rob, of Bradenton, Florida; and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George H. Lay; maternal step-grandfather, Ray Cecil; and paternal grandfather, Jack Eugene Oldham; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Lorraine Gardner. Gary graduated in 2011 from Shelbyville High School, and attended Vincennes University for one year. He worked at Shelby Material, as a loader, at the Beech Grove plant. He had previously worked for eight years for Pierce Tree Trimming Service. Gary attended Shelbyville Community Church. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie Lodge No. 766 in Shelbyville. Gary enjoyed going bowling, and playing softball, golf, soccer and basketball. He also enjoyed playing video games. He also leaves behind his dogs, Loki and Kylo. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Gary’s family is requesting those attending to wear face mask to prevent of spread of Covid. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville Community Church All In Project, 720 NCR 325 E, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
