Gerald L. “Gary” Burch, 66, of Manilla, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at his home.

He was born April 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, the son of James L. and Julia Ann (Cox) Burch.  On June 21, 1974, he married Leslie A. Hyatt, and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2011.  He married Tammy Stransky on November 4, 2011, and she survives.

In addition to Tammy, Gary is survived by his son, Brandon L. Burch and wife, Bri, of Indianapolis; daughters, Heather D. Vaught and husband, P.J., of Martinsville, and Autumn S. Stone of Pendleton; step-children, Laura Elliott and husband, Kurtis Newby, of Alexandria, Eric Stransky and wife, Alyssa, of Franklin, and Matthew Elliott and wife, Alisha, of Lonsdale, Minnesota; grandchildren, Noah A., Molly E., Grace C., Anna E., Athan M., Ethan M., Cameron S. and Mara E.; niece, Danielle Hyatt; and nephews, Zach Baird, Donald Baird and Michael Bennett.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Sue Horn; and brother, James Aaron Burch.

Gary formerly worked for Mitsubishi for six years, Schutt Blacksmith Shop for over 15 years, and KT Corporation for several years.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Gary enjoyed his membership to the Indiana State Park and Recreations and visited them often.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and carpentry.  Gary could fabricate almost anything.  He was very artistic.

He also leaves behind his dog, Nala.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Friday, October 28, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 114 W. Rampart Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Funeral services will follow at Noon on Friday, at the church.

Interment will be at Manilla Cemetery in Manilla.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with the funeral cost.
