Geraldine “Gerri” Brown, 78, of Waldron, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Morning Breeze Health Care in Greensburg.
She was born November 17, 1946, in Ohio, the daughter of Gerald and Ruby (Lee) Gurley. On May 12, 2000, she married Landon “Sam” Brown, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2010.
Gerri is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hackworth and husband, Scott, of Greensburg; bonus daughter, Randi Field of Greensburg; sister, Carolyn Austin of Shelbyville; brother, Richard Gurley and wife, Theresa, of Cookeville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Makenna Hackworth and fiancé, Eli, Alexis Hackworth and Quaylynn Hackworth and fiancé, Tristan; great-granddaughter, Kya Guerrero; sister-in-law, Leanna Gurley of Knightstown; and numerous nieces and nephews including her caregivers at Crown Point.
In addition to Sam, Gerri was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Etheleen Swango and Tammy Gurley; and brother, Barry Gurley.
Gerri worked at the Cambridge Inn for many years, and retired in 2010 from Nascorp.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Shelbyville Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Gerri enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 5 to 6 pm, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
A Celebration of Gerri’s life will follow at 6 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
