Gregory D. "Gregg" Roe

Gregory D. “Gregg” Roe, 66, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born April 13, 1953, in Shelbyville, the son of Robert E. and Jean (Cobb) Roe. On November 5, 1977, he married his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann Broughton, and she survives. In addition to Mary, Gregg is survived by his sister, Terry Bastin and husband, Jeff; mother-in-law, Vi Broughton; brother-in-law, James Broughton and wife, Debbie; sisters-in-law, Linda Dennis and husband, Steve, and Pam Laughlin and husband, Tom; and nieces and nephews, Nick Bastin, Emily Cramer, Angela Romain, Marcie Farley, Jodi Broughton, Steve Dennis, Nathan Cline, Becky Cline, Scott Laughlin, Christy Laughlin and Brady Laughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Estel “Tuck” Broughton. Gregg graduated in 1971 from Shelbyville High School. He owned and operated Roe’s Lawn Care. Gregg was a member of the American Legion. He loved all animals, especially his dogs and cats. Gregg enjoyed gardening, and loved to give away the produce he raised. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the funeral home, with Pastor Tony Meads officiating. Interment will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Hospital, Unit SICU, 200 Abraham Flexner Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40202.
