Harley M. Bontrager, 66, of Morristown passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born October 1, 1953, in LaGrange, the son of Monroe and Mary (Schrock) Bontrager.
Harley is survived by his daughters, Amanda Wagner and husband, Andrew, of Brownsburg, Karla Ajamie and husband, Sam, of Morristown, and Tracy Bontrager and fiance’, Aaron Godby, of Irvington; brothers, Freeman Bontrager and wife, Mary, and Steve Bontrager and wife, Joan, both of Millersburg, and Vernon Bontrager and wife, Ina, of North Port, Florida; sisters, Elizabeth Miller and husband, Melvin, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Erma Schrock and husband, Marlin, of Shipshewana, Sue Weaver and husband, Doug, of Bristol, and Irene Miller and husband, Herbert, of Arthur, Illinois; grandchildren, Carson Wagner, Penelope Wagner, Eloise Ajamie and Avery Ajamie; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John Bontrager and Perry Bontrager.
Harley was a co-owner of Bontrager, Inc., a construction company in Hope, for over 30 years.
He enjoyed being outdoors and beating everyone in horseshoes, pool and checkers.
Harley was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family with various projects.
He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the funeral home, with Menno Hershburger officiating.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
