Harold E. Weaver

Harold E. Weaver, 86, a lifelong farmer and Shelby County resident passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020, during his final flight home from Florida. He was born April 21, 1933, in Shelby County, the son of Clarence and Gladys Rose (Rouse) Weaver. On May 1, 1967, he married his wife of 52 years, Wilma L. Love, and she survives. In addition to Wilma, Harold is survived by his children, Gregory D. Weaver and wife, Diana, of Shelbyville, Susan M. Weaver and husband, Al Smith, of Franklin, Gary D. Hoop of Shelbyville, James B. Weaver and wife, Sara, of Shelbyville and Sandra L. Rush and husband, David, of Shelbyville, and Douglas E. Weaver and wife, Lori, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; sisters, Deloris Kuhn of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Barbara Miller of Franklin; son-in-law, Nelson Bettner of Boggstown; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathryn J. Bettner; sister, Mary Chamberlain; and brothers, Bradford W. Weaver and Clarence “Babe” Weaver. Harold was a 1950 graduate of Boggstown High School. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville, where he served on the Board of Session. He attended Boggstown Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Harold and Wilma owned and operated H & W Soil Service from 1967 to 1997, Shelby Farm Supply from 1973 to 1999 and Fairland Soil Service. Harold enjoyed flying airplanes and power parachutes, traveling in the RV and riding motorcycles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the funeral home, with the Reverends Sandi Martin and Mark Morningstar officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace on Wings, PO Box 42788, Indianapolis, Indiana 46242, First Presbyterian Church, 124 W. Broadway St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 or Boggstown Presbyterian Church, 2488 N. Sand Creek Road, Boggstown, Indiana 46110.
