Harold Ray “Hal” Taylor, 76, Shelbyville, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Timber Creek Village in Shelbyville.
He was born on March 20, 1950, in Indianapolis, the son of Vestal Ray Taylor and Barbara (Hawkins) Letts.
Hal is survived by his mother of Acworth, Georgia; children, Jennifer Addison and husband, Tony, of Fairland, and Michael Taylor and wife, Danielle, of Fishers; grandchildren, Kaiman, Tripp, Owen and Eli; sister, Dianne Hawkins and husband, Ted, of Georgia, Keith Taylor and wife, Eva, of Florida, Gaylord Taylor and wife, Debbie, of Florida, and Doug Taylor and wife, Paris, of Alaska; numerous nieces and a nephew; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
In 1968, Hal graduated from Indian Creek High School.
He worked in logistics for the trucking industry, retiring in 2010.
Hal enjoyed art, especially drawing. He also enjoyed going fishing, watching sports and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500.
Private family services will be observed.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville.
