James Randall "Randy" Whitaker

James Randall “Randy” Whitaker, 65, of Manilla passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. He was born January 3, 1955, in Greensburg, the son of Roy and Hazel (Smith) Whitaker Crim. On November 3, 1979, he married his wife of 40 years, Ann Fair, and she survives. In addition to Ann, Randy is survived by his son, Shane Whitaker and wife, Emily, of Greensburg; daughter, Keri Cunningham of Rushville; brother, Eddie Nicholson and companion, Sharon, of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters, Connie Wiesner of Columbus, and Brenda Caffee of Roanoke; grandchildren, Veronica (Abbi), Alyssa, Kaelynn, Brett and Jake; mother-in-law, Mavern Newton of Morristown; and a large loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Randy formerly worked at KCL Corporation, Standard Register, Fountaintown Forge, Goodyear and drove a truck for Moorman Seed. He loved music. One of his favorite pastimes was playing guitar with his family and friends. A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Randy’s family would like to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and all who cared for him at MHP Medical Center.
