Jane Ellen Taylor, 76, of Fairland, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at Heritage House Convalescent Center in Shelbyville.
She was born August 11, 1945, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Leonard and Florence (Miller) Taylor. On January 19, 1964, she married Robert A. Taylor, and he survives.
In addition to Robert, Jane is survived by her daughters, Cassandra Smith and husband, Craig, of Rushville, Andrea Reed and husband, Charles, of Shelbyville, Robin Cochran of Fairland; son, Rhett Taylor and wife, Amy, of Fort Sills, Oklahoma; brother, Brad Taylor and wife, Cindy, of Needham; grandchildren, Ashley Comstock and husband, Tyler, Alexis Smith and husband, Ben, Brianna Sample and husband, Blaine, Brianna Smith, Jenson Smith, Gabrielle Hundley and husband, Matt, Nathaniel Reed, Luke Reed, Sonya Keithley, Natalie Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Joe Lober, Jake Taylor and Matt Taylor; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaved behind her dog, Prince.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Kae Kehrt and Rebecca Taylor.
She graduated in 1963 from Triton Central High School.
Jane was a member of Fairland Grace Community Church.
She had worked at Fairland Bank, as a teller, for five years.
Jane was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed cooking.
She loved her family, especially the babies.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at the funeral home, with Pastor James Moore officiating.
Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
