Jason Paul Wischmeyer

Jason Paul Wischmeyer, 43, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at his home. He was born April 23, 1977, in Shelbyville, the son of Mark Paul and Apryl Rose (Crisp) Wischmeyer. Jason is survived by his parents of Shelbyville; son, Brock Russell Wischmeyer of Shelbyville; brother, Ryan Dale Wischmeyer and wife, Qingqing, of Westfield; fiance’, Tammy Young of Indianapolis, and her daughters, Brittany Cook, Erin Lux and husband, Brad, and Taylor Young, and grandson, Luke; a special friend, Jessica Larrison of Shelbyville; and his best friend, Joseph Kerschbaum of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Patsy Wischmeyer; and maternal grandmother, Gilda Mount. Jason graduated in 1995 from Shelbyville High School, received his BA in business from Indiana University Bloomington in 1999 and his law degree from Indiana University Law School in 2002. He has been a dedicated attorney for over 15 years, serving clients through his firm, Wischmeyer Law. Jason is a veteran attorney recognized for inclusion in the Indiana Rising Star list by Indiana Super Lawyers. He is included in Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide Edition as a lifetime member for his outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of law. Princeton Global Network has recognized Jason as a top 100 attorney in the United States. He has also been recognized with a Small Business Excellence Award for 2016 and 2017 for personal injury representations. Jason cherished the time he spent with his son. He was an avid fan of Indiana Hoosiers basketball, Indianapolis Colts football and Star Wars. Jason also enjoyed driving his corvette, golfing, boating and traveling. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Robb Barlow officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
