Jo Anna Patterson, 91, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born January 30, 1929, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Dillard and Freda (Walton) Magee. On July 3, 1948, she married her husband of 72 years, Harold W. Patterson, and he survives. In addition to Harold, Jo Anna is survived by her daughters, Pam Burgette and husband, Jere, of Bradenton, Florida, and Teresa Waltz and husband, Phil, of Shelbyville; sister, Cheryl Thompson and husband, Jim, of Brazil; grandchildren, Andrea Orofino and husband, Kevin, Derek Burgette and wife, Angie, Blake Burgette and wife, Heather, Staci Carmony and husband, Todd, and Craig Waltz and wife, Desiree; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jo Anna was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Rita Hewitt, Mary Harrell Townes and Virginia McNeely. She was a 1947 graduate of Shelbyville High School. Jo Anna was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Colin Cress officiating. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 34 W.
