Jo Ann Dunaway

Jo Ann Dunaway, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Greenfield Healthcare Facility in Greenfield.

She was born October 18, 1939, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Alex and Agnes (Wetzel) Scott. She was married to Don Dunaway for 65 years.

In addition to being survived by Don, Jo Ann is survived by her children, Barry Dunaway and wife, Ann, of Prince Edwards, Maryland, and Renita Gosnell of Butlerville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

She received two Masters degrees from Indiana Central Teachers College.

Jo Ann retired from Loper Elementary School, where she was a first grade teacher.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
