John Scott Tillison

John Scott Tillison, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg.

He was born November 30, 1935, in Rush County, the son of Thompson and Bernice (Whipple) Tillison.

John is survived by his children, Debbie Tillison of Shelbyville, Scott Tillison and wife, Yang, of Rye Brook, New York, and Dana Laird and husband, Kevin, of Greenwood; brother, Bob Tillison and wife, Susie, of Waldron; sister, Mary Ann Hornsby and husband, Kenny, of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Kalli, Ethan, Nate, and Jordan Crousore and husband, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Arron, Jade and Gage; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Tillison; and brother, Tom Tillison.

John graduated in 1953 from Milroy High School.

He was a member of the Army National Guard.

John attended First Christian Church.

He retired from Robert D. Marshall Construction.

John was a member of the American Legion Post No. 70 and Eagles Aerie Lodge No. 766.

He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds.

Private family services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
