Jon A. Nigh, 78, of Morristown passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home. He was born December 12, 1941, in Shelby County, the son of Aaron and Esther (Carmony) Nigh. On August 4, 2001, he married Nancy (Chamberlain) Graves, and she survives. In addition to Nancy, Jon is survived by his step-children, Robert Graves and wife, Elizabeth, of Indianapolis, and Elisabeth Leclercq of Noblesville; brother, Don Nigh and wife, Mary Ann, of North Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Colin, Ethan, Mariah, Kyla and Samantha; great-grandson, Hudson; nephew, Phil Nigh and wife, Rosemary of Morristown; niece, Patricia Diefenderfer and husband, Richard, of Morristown; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jon attended Morristown schools. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Morristown. Jon formerly worked at the Holiday Inn in Shelbyville and then at IPC in Morristown for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and music. Jon was an artist, he enjoyed drawing birds and flowers. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Church of the Nazarene, 554 E. Main St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at the church, with the Revs. Todd Reynolds, David Huff, Phil Nigh and John Wessic officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown Church of the Nazarene. Online condolences may be shared with Jon’s family at www.freemanfamilyfuneralhomes.com.
