Julia Lavina Goodrich, 94, of Fairland passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007, at her home.
Born May 16, 1913, in Fairland, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Clida B. (Holmes) Goodrich.
Survivors include her sister, Cora Goodrich, longtime friend and neighbor, Sandra Delk; and special friend, Monique Scott, all of Fairland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Jefferson Goodrich, who died in infancy.
Miss Goodrich was retired from the Internal Revenue Service, Taxpayer Service Division, in 1978 after 44 years. After retirement, she worked with the American Red Cross and also was a teacher's aide at Triton Middle School.
She graduated in 1932 from Fairland High School, after starting school in a one-room schoolhouse in Sugar Creek Township.
Miss Goodrich was a member of the Northwood Christian Church and a 71-year member of Fairland Chapter No. 359 Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, with Eather Star services at 7 p.m., at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Whisler officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
