Karen Zupan

Karen Zupan, 64, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Greenwood Meadows in Greenwood. She was born April 2, 1953, in Shelby County, the daughter of Joe Zupan and Avonelle Jean (Evans) Scott. Karen is survived by her significant other, Aaron Hilliard of Indianapolis; step-children, Estoshia Walker and husband, Tony, Domonique Hilliard, and Aaron DePonce, all of Indianapolis; and eight step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Joe Zupan. Karen graduated from Southport High School in 1971. She had formerly worked at the Indiana Regional Blood Center and retired in 1999. Karen enjoyed watching classic movies. A gathering of friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A Celebration of Karen’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Father Paul Landwerlen officiating.
