Katherine Y. Neighbors

Katherine Y. Neighbors, 53, of Franklin, formerly of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Franklin Meadows in Franklin. She was born April 19, 1968, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Kenny and Joan (Bakemeier) Denger. Katherine is survived by her son, Caleb Brown and wife, Christy, of Shelbyville; sisters, Carol Pitzer and husband, Garry, of Fairland, and Nona Poole and husband, Sam, of Tennessee; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown, April Anderson, Austin Anderson, Cierra Ross and Stephanie Ross; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Katherine had attended First Baptist Church in Cumberland. She graduated in 1986 from New Palestine High School. Katherine formerly worked as a cashier at Walmart. She enjoyed diamond art. Katherine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
