Kenneth E. Branson

Kenneth E. “Kenny” Branson, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at his home.

He was born on June 8, 1948, in Shelbyville, the son of Robert E. and Alberta L. (Owens) Branson.

Kenny is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Branson and John Branson; and sisters, Phyllis Behrends and Janet Jewell.

In 1966, Kenny graduated from Southwestern High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam war.

Kenny was a member of the Bengal Christian Church.

He formerly worked as a truck driver for the Shelby County Highway Department. Kenny also helped many of the local farmers on their farms.

Graveside services will be at 3 pm, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County, with military rites conducted by the local military committee.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville.
