Kenneth L. Stiers, 71, of Manilla passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his home.
He was born September 21, 1949, in Shelbyville, the son of Lowell and Irene (Kuhn) Stiers.
Kenny is survived by his daughters, Angela Yeend and husband, Chris, of Manilla, and Kimberly Miller and husband, Rob, of Muncie; grandchildren, Katelyn Yeend and Brady Yeend; companion, Jean Johnson of Rushville; sister, Katherine Theobald of South Bend; brother, Richard “Dick” Stiers and wife, Janice, of Minnesota; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his infant sister, Janet Stiers.
He graduated in 1967 from Waldron High School.
Kenny was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era.
Kenny was a farmer and carpenter. He was also the owner and operator of Top Dog Boarding Kennel, retiring in 2014, with 20 years of service.
He was also a member of the Pioneer Engineers Club.
Kenny had a collection of Oliver tractors. He also collected toy tractors.
Spending time caring for the family farm was one of his favorite pastimes.
He also leaves behind his cat, Waldo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Shelby County.
