Kim Ray Banker, 60, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at his home. He was born October 31, 1960, in Shelbyville, the son of Dale E. and Avonelle Sue (Brown) Banker. Kim is survived by his brother, Stephen D. Banker and wife, Ruth, of Marion; sisters, Deborah Kanouse and husband, Ed, and Lou Ann Thurston and husband, Roger, both of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews including Dee Ann Surface and husband, Greg, Melissa Nelson and husband, Mike, Devin Smith and wife, Donna, and Michael Thurston and wife, Vicki; and several cousins including Paula, Mandy, Katie and Casey, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kim graduated in 1978 from Triton Central High School. He had owned and operated, Elite Window Washing Business for over 30 years. Kim was a licensed hang-glider pilot and loved flying with his friends. He enjoyed playing golf and trying to beat Greg Surface. Kim also enjoyed chainsaw carving. He was a GREAT caregiver for his Mom, before her passing in 2020. Kim was a wonderful brother and friend and was loved by all who really took the time to know him. Rest in Peace. Kim also leaves behind and loved his dog, Smokey. A gathering of friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
