Lawrence A. “Larry” Evans, 68, of Fairland passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
He was born October 19, 1951, in Indianapolis, the son of Clarence William and Virginia Mae (Montgomery) Evans. On May 24, 1974, he married his wife of 45 years, Glenya Etheridge, and she survives.
In addition to Glenya, Larry is survived by his sons, Steven Evans and wife, Holly, of Fairland, and Lawrence “Anthony” Evans and wife, Amanda, of Greenfield; sisters, Kathy Dunaway and husband, Phil, of Fairland, Karen Miller and husband, Bruce, and Karol Evans, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Clarence “Bud” Evans and William “Bill” Evans, both of Fairland; grandchildren, Zachary Evans, Lucille Virginia Evans, Lawrence “Austin” Evans, Abraham Evans, Molly Evans, Abigail Evans and Mikellyn Evans; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends from life and “The Suds”, whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry graduated in 1970 from Triton Central High School.
He was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Larry owned “Mr. Rooftop” as a self-employed recycler. He was also the co-owner of The Suds Drive In Restaurant in Greenwood.
He enjoyed cars, especially Hot Rods, drag racing and NASCAR.
Larry loved family time with his grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his dog, Bella.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the funeral home, with Chaplain Steve Richwine officiating.
Interment will be at London Cemetery.
